LAUSANNE HC vs EHC BIEL-BIENNE 2-3
Bienne earned a 3-2 road win against Lausanne at the end of a very intense game, in our opinion the best game of this Friday night!
The Seeländers got off to a great start. Firstly they prevented Lausanne from scoring during a power-play opportunity… and then, after 8 minutes and 47 seconds of play, they took the lead thanks to a magic trick of Luca Cunti. Moreover, always during the first period, they even extended their lead to 2-goals with Marc-Antoine Pouliot during their first power-play opportunity of the night!
It could have been a huge blow for the Lions Vaudois. And instead, the hosts were able to score their first goal of the night with Cory Emmerton shortly before the first break. And from that moment on, the game changed. During the central period Ville Peltonen’s troops were the better side, and deservedly scored the tying goal with Joël Vermin in the 26th minute of play. We mean, the momentum was completely on the hosts’ side at that point.
We expected, sooner or later, that Lausanne could take the lead for the first time of the night. But it was right in those moments that Antti Törmänen’s impressive team spirit came out.
The Seeländers in fact, were able to play a solid and smart hockey and increased their level of play as the game went on. To the point that, at only 73 seconds to the end of the game, they scored the game winning goal with Mike Künzle! We mean, as we said in the analysis during the international break, Bienne are able to win games also when they’re not at the top of their game… only great teams can do that.
THE GUY ON FIRE
Janis-Jérôme Moser is unbelievable. He delivered a very solid performance and put an inhuman calm on display for a guy his age!
