HC DAVOS vs LAUSANNE HC 4-3
Davos never cease to amaze, they prevailed 4-3 against Lausanne and therefore extended their winning run to 5-games!
It’s true that the Ibexes are not performing as good as earlier this season in terms of consistency over-the-arc of the 60 minutes. Yet, they keep on earning points… and right now, that’s all that matters. Last night, Christian Wohlwend’s troops didn’t deliver a great performance during the first period, but nevertheless had the best scoring chances.
During the early stages of the second period though, Lausanne took the lead thanks to Christoph Bertschy’s power-play goal… and the visitors’ goal was like a wake-up call for the hosts. The latter in fact, suddenly increased their level of play and for about 15 minutes literally outplayed the Lions Vaudois!
That led to the goals scored by Benjamin Baumgartner, Lukas Stoop and Aaron Palushaj (2) that gave Davos a 3-goals lead.
During the early stages of the second third, however, Lausanne were able to make it a brand new game with Jöel Vermin. Moreover, 3 minutes and 45 seconds into the final third, the Lions Vaudois – again during a PP opportunity – were able to score their third goal of the night again with Joël Vermin and at that point the momentum could very well be favourable for the visitors.
The visitors were way too undisciplined though. While Davos, who could count on a great performance delivered by Joren van Pottelberghe, proved to have some real character… they fought hard and finally earned the umpteenth points this season!
THE GUY ON FIRE
Aaron Palushaj had scored one goal before last night… and then score twice against Lausanne… we mean, this guy scored two goals that are a godsend for his morale.
