LAUSANNE HC vs OCELARI TRINEC 5-3
Champions Hockey League – 15.10.2019
Lausanne earned a 5-3 win against Ocelari Trinec and therefore made it through the group stage! What a wonderful result for the Lions Vaudois at their first Champions Hockey League participation.
The game played at the Vaudoise Arena was certainly quite eventful. Right from the first puck drom. The Czech immediately had the chance to take the lead but shortly after that it was Lausanne to score with Christoph Bertschy. Always during the first third then, Erik Hrna scored the tying goal for Ocelari Trinec in the 12th minute of play, but almost immediately the Lions Vaudois restored their lead with Victor Oejdemark.
During the early stages of the central period, Ville Peltonen went 3-1 ahead thanks to Cory Emmerton but almost immediately the visitors scored their second goal of the night with Michal Kovarcik… and so the two teams went to the second break with a 3-2 score. We mean, anything could still happen.
Lausanne seemeed to have sealed the win and the qualification at 12 minutes to the end, when Ronalds Kenins scored a 4th goal… but few minutes later Ocelari Trinec made it once again a brand new game with Petr Vrana.
The final stages were not very suitable for the faint of heart, until at 1 second to the end Petteri Lindbohm scored the empty-netter that set the 5-3 final score.
