EHC BIEL-BIENNE vs HC FRIBOURG GOTTÉRON 3-1
Bienne vs Fribourg Gottéron was the classic “first day at school” game… both teams put some good and bad things on display. Surely Bienne proved again, just like during the Champions Hockey League games, to be a rock solid team. Moreover, when you can count on a world class player like Toni Rajala… it’s not an accident that you can win the game (3-1 the final score).
But let’s go with order… frankly speaking, the first period of play will not go down in history as the most spectacular one ever. The game was quite balanced even though the hosts had some more scoring opportunities. The game became more eventful during the second period. Both teams had their chances… but, shortly after the half-an-hour mark, it was Toni Rajala who made the difference and gave the lead to Bienne!
And so we moved on to the decisive third period. Fribourg Gottéron almost immediately scored the tying goal with Samuel Walser… and at that point, we all thought that the momentum would be on the visitors’ side. The Seeländers, however, restored their lead again with Toni Rajala quite soon, and then had several chances to seal the three points. To see another goal, however, we needed to wait until the 59th minute of play, that is until when Toni Rajala scored the empty-netter that set the 3-1 final score!
THE GUY ON FIRE
Toni “on fire” Rajala is on fire… nothing new, after all!
