HC DAVOS – SC RAPPERSWI-JONA LAKERS

Game-3 of the playout final is scheduled for tonight in Davos… the Ibexes are 2-0 ahead on overall and it looks like they can manage to get rid of the Lakers quite fast. Careful though, don’t write Rappi off just yet…

HC Davos vs SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers 2-0

LEADING SCORERS OF THE SERIES

3 points – Benjamin Baumgartner (2G, 1A)

2 points – Casey Wellmann (1G, 1A)

PLAYOUT FINAL – GAME-3 – 30.03.2019

HC DAVOS vs SC RAPPERSWIL-JONA LAKERS – Vaillant Arena – 20:00

Davos are 2-0 ahead and we’re pretty sure that, even though they surely love their fans, they have every intention to make tonight’s game their last home game of the season. It wasn’t really obvious that the Ibexes could win both the first two games… in fact, they had everything to lose. So far, however, they’ve been able to stay focused. Keep it up!

WHAT DID WORK

The results

In a series, even more so if it’s a playout final, to win is the only thing that matters. It doesn’t actually matter how you win. Well, in this regard, Davos accomplished the first two of the four mission that they have to accomplish on overall. The Ibexes want to put their season to an end as soon as possible and have all it takes to do so.

WHAT CAN IMPROVE

Kill the games

Both in game-1 and in game-2, Davos weren’t really able to “kill the games” and therefore Rapperswil had a chance to stay in the game until the end. It’s very dangerous to play with fire… if the Ibexes take the lead tonight, they have to do everything to extend it and “kill the game” as soon as possible.

THE PLAYER “ON FIRE”

Benjamin Baumgartner

The 18 years old Benjamin Baumgartner is Davos’ Top Scorer of the playout final… that’s great news in view of the future! This guy seriously has got talent.

Rapperswil are almost up against the wall… Frankly speaking, it’s gonna be very difficult to win 4 games agaist Davos considering what we’ve seen so far. Moreover, let us not forget that the Lakers never won two consecutive games this season. However, whilst there is life, there is hope, right? Rapperswil have nothing to lose and must only give it all.

WHAT DID WORK

Game-2 performance

Frankly speaking, no one can say that Rapperswil underperformed during game-2. The team gave it all and the impression was that Davos were not so far away. If the Lakers can step up and improve a bit more in terms of performance… they may even make Davos’ life very difficult.

WHAT CAN IMPROVE

Focus

Rapperswil make way too many small mistakes that, in the end, make the difference in Davos’ favour. Tonight, Jeff Tomlinson’s troops must stay focused from start fo finish. We mean, no further distractions!

THE PLAYER “ON FIRE”

Dion Knelsen

Dion Knelsen tallied only 1 point (1 assist) during the first two games of the playout final… but overall, his performances were good. He’s been growing constantly throughout the season and this is good news for Rapperswil.
