FIA Appoints Two New Executive Officials Following Recent Departures

Leadership Changes at FIA Signal New Directions

The Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) has recently appointed two key figures to its leadership team, marking a significant shift in the organization’s structure. Alberto Villarreal and Alessandra Malhamé have stepped into roles as the new CEO and Senior HR Director, respectively. This change comes in the wake of an exodus of top executives, with four senior officials leaving since December.

Villarreal, who hails from Spain, takes over the reins from Natalie Robyn, the FIA’s inaugural CEO, who departed in May. Her exit marks the fourth high-profile departure from the organization, following that of sports director Steve Nielsen, single-seater technical director Tim Goss, and Deborah Mayer, who led the women’s commission. Further departures included key executives in communication, mobility, commercial legal affairs, and governance, demonstrating mounting challenges within the FIA’s leadership landscape.
