LAUSANNE HC vs SC BERN 3-2
Lausanne earned a 3-2 home win against Bern at the end of a game played in a surreal and sad environment.
The Bears wasted the umpteenth chance this season and therefore deserve to play the ranking round. No ifs, no buts. Hans Kossmann’s guys needed to win in Lausanne and meanwhile hope that Lugano would lose at home againt Ambrì-Piotta. We mean, they were up against the wall. Therefore, we expexted the Bears on fire… we expected the Bears willing to do anything to earn the three points. And instead, we just saw cute and fragile teddy bears.
Let’s face it, Lausanne wasn’t much better. The Lions Vaudois, however, deserve at least credit because were able to roar from time to time.
The game was like a friendly. And the score was 0-0 until the half-an-hour mark. After that, in a matter of 7 minutes and a half, firsty Lausanne took the lead with Lukas Frick, then Bern tied things up with Inti Pestoni and finally the Lions Vaudois restored their lead with Josh Jooris.
At that point, we expected a fierce reaction from Bern in the final third. In vain. Because Hans Kossmann’s troops were able to tie things up again with Tristan Scherwey almost immediately… but then, they didn’t do enough to deserve the win. Actually, during the latest stages of the game, it was Josh Jooris who earned Lausanne the win!
Again, this was a sad game. A game that, all in all, LHC deserved to win.
THE GUY ON FIRE
Josh Jooris scored the two goals that brought down the Bears.
