HC FRIBOURG GOTTÉRON vs SC RAPPERSWIL-JONA LAKERS 5-3
What were the two teams’ targets on the eve of this game? Fribourg Gottéron wanted to win, no matter how. Rapperswil instead wanted to show to be alive in view of the by now basically inevitable playout.
Put it like that, we think it’s safe to say that both teams can be satisfied after this game. The Dragons earned a 5-3 win while Rappi – despite the disappointment for the defeat suffered – proved to be alive and even quite accurate in front of goal.
And to say that the game seemed over at the half-an-hour mark. Juraj Simek gave the lead to the visitors after 5 minutes and 2 seconds of play… but Gottéron reacted well any by the 28th minute of play was 4-1 ahead in the score thanks to the goals of Jérémie Kamerzin, Viktor Stalberg (2) and Julien Sprunger.
Then, however… the Dragons wouldn’t be the Dragons if they don’t make their fans suffer also on Valentine’s day. All of a sudden in fact, after the half-an-hour, Christian Dubé’s guys started to make unforced and unnecessary mistakes while Rapperswil continued to fight hard. What was the consequence? The consequence was that, already before the second break, Danny Kristo and Andrew Rowe made it a brand new game: 4-3 the score before the start of the last third.
It was right at that moment though, that Gottéron won the game. Right, because the hosts didn’t panic, they handled quite well the situation and finally even set the 5-3 final score thanks to the empty-netter scored by Marc Abplanalp during the final stages of the game!
THE GUY ON FIRE
The other day, were were saying that Viktor Stalberg is back… only the goal was missing. Well, during this very important game he scored twice and that’s the right reward for his efforts!
