13.10.19 – Lausanne HC vs HC Lugano 5-2

23.12.19 – HC Lugano vs Lausanne HC 0-2

Lausanne and Lugano face each other for the fourth time this season. So far there was no deal to make for the Bianconeri… the Lions Vaudois won three times out of three!

Let’s see the two teams’ form.

The last game

EV Zug vs Lausanne HC 3-0

Lausanne is coming off the 3-0 road defeat suffered against Zug that followed the 6-4 home defeat suffered against Fribourg Gottéron. The latter two defeats put their 3-games winning run to an end. The Lions Vaudois are capable of playing a very dominant hockey… but they’re also capable of delivering totally emotionless performances like the one against Zug. We mean, it’s difficult to know what to expect from them. Moreover, they darn struggle at home, as it is evidenced by the fact that they won only 4 of their last 12 games played at the Vaudoise Arena.

Last game

HC Lugano vs HC Ambrì-Piotta 5-1

Lugano is coming off the 5-1 home win earned against Ambrì-Piotta that followed the 5-3 road defeat suffered against Bienne before the international break. The Bianconeri are the team of 2020… regardless of the level of their performances in fact, they won 7 of their last 9 games and even won 4 of their last 6 games played on the road. These are excellent results for this team that is very much alive!

The last time that a game between Lausanne and Lugano required OT/SO dates back to September 12th, 2015. Back then, 4 years and a half ago, the Bianconeri earned a 4-3 overtime road win thanks to the goals scored by Damien Brunner, Fredrik Pettersson (2) and Philippe Furrer. The Lions Vaudois’ scorers were Harri Pesonen, Yannick Herren and Etienne Froideveaux.
