23.12.19 – SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers vs HC Fribourg Gottéron 2-3 (OT)

Fribourg Gottéron and Rapperswil face each other for the fourth time this season. The Dragons won two times while the Lakers only one.

Let’s see the two teams’ form.

HC FRIBOURG GOTTÉRON

The last game

EHC Biel-Bienne vs HC Fribourg Gottéron 5-6 (OT)

Fribourg Gottéron is coming off the “crazy” 6-5 overtime road win earned against Bienne that followed the 6-4 road win earned against Lausanne. Christian Dubé’s troops are in a very good form and won 5 of their last 6 games played. Tonight, they’re clearly the favorites… but the game will have to be taken with a grain of salt. Even more so because Gottéron won only 3 of their last 7 games played at the BCF Arena.

SC RAPPERSWIL-JONA LAKERS

Last game

SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers vs SCL Tigers 7-3

Rapperswil is coming off the 7-3 home win earned against Langnau thanks to an excellent team performance that proved that Jeff Tomlinson’s troops aren’t in any mood to give away points even though the playoffs are basically unreachable for them. That said, Rappi won only 2 of their last 8 games and, most and above all, won only 1 of their last 15 played on the road.

FUN FACT

It’s definively good omen for Fribourg Gottéron to host Rapperswil on Valentine’s day… it happened also in 2009 and on that occasion the Dragons earned a clear 6-1 home win thanks to the goals scored by Laurent Meunier, Julien Sprunger, Shawn Heins, Marc Abplanalp, Geoffrey Vauclair and Andrey Bykov. For the visitors, Markus Bütler scored the consolation goal.
