SC RAPPERSWIL-JONA LAKERS vs SCL TIGERS 7-3
What a magical night for Rapperswil that earned a well-deserved 7-3 home win against Langnau thanks to an outstanding team performance especially during the first and the last third!
Jeff Tomlinson’s guys were fantastic. They were rock solid in defense, nice to watch in the offensive zone and capable of scoring the right goals at the right time. One might think that if they always play like this, they wouldn’t be at the bottom of the National League table. Suffice it to look at the first period of play, that was a one-sided affair in every possible way. The hosts outplayed the visitors and went to the first break 3-0 ahead in the score thanks to the goals scored by Leandro Profico, Nico Dünner and Andrew Rowe during the first 5 minutes and 20 seconds of play.
And what about the Tigers? It must be said that, if on the one hand Rappi delivered a great performance, on the other hand Heinz Ehlers’ troops were just too ugly to be true. In fact, the visitors reacted only during the central period and scored with Andrea Glauser their first goal of the night shortly after the half-an-hour mark.
Then, however, the Lakers restored their 3-goals lead shortly before the second break with Kevin Clark and the 32 years old Canadian forward’s goal was a huge confidence booster… because Jeff Tomlinson’s guys came back on fire after the second break and scored three more goals with Corsin Casutt, again Kevin Clark and Andrew Rowe. And it doesn’t really matter that, always during the last third, Benjamin Neukom and Harri Pesonen put two pucks in the net for Langnau. Because overall, Rappi totally deserved to win the game 7-3 and as we said gifted the home crowd with a magical night!
THE GUY ON FIRE
What a player, Andrew Rowe. He’s top class, a real animal!
