EHC BIEL-BIENNE vs FRIBOURG GOTTÉRON 5-6 (SO)
Bienne and Fribourg Gottéron gifted the fans with a crazy game. A game during which everything happened… nice plays, mistakes, goals. Emotions. And finally, the Dragons earned a 6-5 shootout road win!
Christian Dubé’s guys got off to a great start of the game and proved merciless in front of goal. This allowed thtem to take a 3-goals lead thanks to Daniel Brodin, Flavio Schmutz and again Daniel Brodin in a matter of 14 minutes and 20 seconds of play. We mean, the game already seemed to be sort of over. Then, however, something changed already before the first break… when Jan Neuenschwander scored the first goal of the night for Bienne.
Neuenschwander’s goal in fact, was a huge confidence booster for the Seeländer who came back on fire after the first break and delivered an excellent performance during the central period. A performance that paid off considering that David Ullström and Yannick Rathgeb tited thtings up. That’s it? Nope, because Mike Künzle completely turned the score around during the early stages of the last third and at that moment the momentum seemed to be clearly favorable for the hosts!
But it was right at that moment, instead, that Dubé’s guys real character came out. In a matter of few minutes in fact, Sandro Schmid and Tristan Vauclair restored the lead for the visitors… before that – didn’t we say that it was a crazy game?! – Kevin Fey scored the tying goal for the Seeländer at few minutets to the end of the 60 minutes.
Everythting could happen at that moment… and it happened that the Dragons earned the extra point thanks to the two goals scored by Julien Sprunger during the shootout series!
THE GUY ON FIRE
He’s not scoring goals ye… but his performances are getting better and better. The guy deserves a round of applause in our opinion!
