LAUSANNE HC vs HC FRIBOURG GOTTÉRON 4-6
Nope, there is no deal to make for Lausanne this season when the opponents are Fribourg Gottéron. The Dragons in fact, won for the fifth time out of five. 6-4 the final score at the Vaudoise Arena this time.
It was a crazy game, quite eventful. A game that anyway, in our opinion, Christian Dubé’s troops deserved to win. Don’t be fooled about the fact that they conceded 4 goals… because overall, if we exclude the three minutes of of madness at about the half-an-hour mark, the Dragons delivered a rock solid performance. And were extremely efficient during PP opportunities… It took 8 minutes and 54 seconds to Sandro Schmid to score the first goal of the night for the visitors. And then, by the 26th minute of play, Daniel Brodin scored a hat-trick – all PP goals – that put Gottéron 4-0 ahead in the score!
At that point, the game seemed over. But Fribourg Gottéron did… well, did Fribourg Gottéron, it’s as simple as that. Suddenly the Dragons became undisciplined for three minutes and this cost them three goals. Lausanne in fact, in just a few moments scored three PP goals – with Alexandre Grenier, Dustin Jeffrey and Christoph Bertschy – and made it a brand new game out of nowhere.
A game that, however, Gottéron won right at that time when the momentum seemed favorable to the Lions Vaudois but when, already before the second break, Daniel Brodin put the visitors 5-3 ahead (obviously it was a PP goal…) and basically sealed the deal.
Right, because Lausanne tried to react after the second break and even scored their fourth goal of the night with Alexandre Grenier. But Gottéron defended themselves quite well, Reto Berra made the right saves at the righ ttimes and Julien Sprunger scored the empty-netter during the final stages that set the 6-4 final score!
THE GUY ON FIRE
Daniel Brodin scored 4 goals but it’s not “only” that… as usual, he brought in a lot of energy. In our opinion, he’s a potential playoff animal!
