The Frölunda Indians won the CHL for the fourth time in six years!


So, also the 2019-20 edition of the Champions Hockey League came to an end. The Champions are Frölunda Indians that won the trophy the fourth time in six editions, confirming therefore to be the best European team around!

The Swedes, coached by Roger Rönnberg, could lift the trophy thanks to the 3-1 win against Mountfield HK. The Czech took the lead thanks to Petr Koukal after 6 minutes and 53 seconds of play. But then, during the last 3 minutes and a half of the first period of play, Simon Hjalmarsson, Max Friberg and Johan Sundström set the 3-1 final score for the Indians.

No more goals were scored in fact. Mostly because the two goalies – Marek Manzanek and Johan Mattsson – were at the top of their game.

Also two former National League players played the game.

Among the winners, there was the former Bern Ryan Lasch, who had one assist. Among the losers inastead, there was the former Rapperswil (7 appearances…) who didn’t tally points.
