SCL TIGERS vs EHC BIEL-BIENNE 2-0

31.01.2020

Langnau earned a very well deserved 2-0 home win against Bienne at the Ilfishalle in front of 6’000 fans.

What can we say about this game? It was that kind of a game during which a team – Langnau – delivered a top notch performance while the other team – Bienne – basically underperformed. It’s as simple as that.

In fact, we think it’s safe to say that Jonas Hiller was the only reason why Bienne were in the game until the end. Because when it comes to attitude, commitment and play… well, Heinz Ehlers’ troops outplayed the hosts. The Tigers, however, needed to wait 24 minutes and 29 seconds in order to reap the fruit of their hard work thanks to the goal scored by Pascal Berger. And from that moment on, the game didn’t change. The hosts fought harder and were more determined. At least until the beginning of the third period of play.

During the third period in fact, it’s likely that the Seeländer thought that, since they were there at the Ilfis, they could even start to play some hockey. Now, don’t get us wrong, we’re not saying that they were at the top of their game during the last third. At least, however, they were able to create few scoring chances.

Frankly speaking though, Langnau deserved the win. And at 3 minutes and a half to the end, Harri Pesonen set the 2-0 final score. Deservedly so.

THE GUY ON FIRE

Heinz Ehlers (Coach)

It’s clear that the coach of Langnau prepared the game perfectly. Overall, Langnau delivered a very good team performance. Then of course, Heinz Ehlers can’t go in to put the puck in the net.
