EV ZUG vs SC RAPPERSWIL-JONA LAKERS 4-1
Zug earned a 4-1 home win against Rapperswil at the end of a game that was quite fun.
Many people expected a very easy win for the Bulls. And instead, it was a hard-fought one. Actually, we think it’s safe to say that Rappi sold their lives dearly and, finally, paid the price because the hosts are second to no one in Switzerland when it comes to technical skills.
Zug, anyway, obviously spent more time in the offensive zone. And it was certainly not an accident that in a matter of 27 minutes and 21 seconds they went 2-0 ahead thanks to the goals scored by Oscar Lindberg (scored during the first period during the first PP opportunity of the night) and by Johan Morant.
The Lakers, however, never gave up and in fact increased their level of play as the game went on. To the point that, at approximately 10 minutes to the end, Juraj Simek made it a brand new game.
Let’s face it, Jeff Tomlinson’s troops – as it’s been way too often the case recently – darn struggle to take their scoring chances. And in a game like the one played at the Bossard Arena, you pay a high price for such “flaw”. Even more so because the Bulls, even though were not at the top of their game, nevertheless delivered a good team performance and are second to no one in Switzerland when it comes to talent… in the image of Oscar Lindberg and Carl Klingberg, who set the 4-1 final score between the 51st and the 55th minute of play.
THE GUY ON FIRE
It’s a pleasure to watch this young precious gem of Zug play. What a fantastic player!
