SCL TIGERS vs EV ZUG 5-1
Langnau earned a 5-1 home win against Zug at the Ilfishalle thanks to a fantastic performance!
Both teams fought hard. In fact, we think you can’t say that Zug underperformed. And this fact increase furthermore the merits of Heinz Ehlers’ troops. The Tigers in fact were solid, they could count on Ivars Punnenovs at the top of his game and were able to be lethal in the offensive zone at the key moments of the game.
The first period was overall quite balanced. Zug had more scoring chances to take the lead but… shortly before the first break, and in a matter of only 62 seconds, the hosts took a 2-goals lead thanks to Federico Lardi and Chris DiDomenico!
The Bulls then reacted and during the early stages of the central period made it a brand new game with Sven Senteler. Heinz Ehlers’ guys, however, also thanks to the self-confidence gained thanks to the two goals scored during the first period, continued to fight hard. They were extremely committed and their efforts paid off shortly before the second break, when Robbie Earl restored the 2-goals lead!
Oftentimes, a goal scored during the latest stages of the second period turns out to be crucial. And it was the case also last night. Because the Tigers came back on fire after the second break, and in a matter of 6 minutes and 56 seconds they set the 5-1 final score thanks to Claudio Cadonau and Harri Pesonen.
Well, what a fantastic night for Langnau!
THE GUY ON FIRE
Certainly Ivars Punnenovs didn’t steal the game. The Tigers in fact, delivered an excellent performance. Yet, the goalie of Langnau made the right saves at the right time and his performance was a confidence booster for the whole team.
