GENÈVE SERVETTE HC vs SC RAPPERSWIL-JONA LAKERS 5-1
Genève Servette earned a 5-1 home win against Rapperswil and therefore put their short 3-games losing streak to an end!
The Eagles got off to a brillant start of the game and literallly outplayed the visitors for about 10-15 minutes. In a matter of 12 minutes and 51 seconds, Arnaud Riat, Tommy Wingels and Sandis Smons (first NL goal) gave Patrick Emond’s troops a 3-goals lead. And, frankly speaking, the hosts could even score more goals. During the early stages of the central period then, Tim Bozon extended Genève Servette’s lead to 4-goals. And at that point, the game – willy, nilly – was over.
The remaining 37 minutes of play in fact, became useless. Obviously, Genève Servette thought mostly about handling the situation, while obviously Rappi tried to react. The visitors’ reaction led to the goal scored by Daniel Kristo shortly before the half-an-hour mark. And the visitors’ reaction led also to some scoring chances. But it was already too late.
Even more so beacuse during the early stages of the last third Arnaud Riat scored his second goal of the night and set the 5-1 final score. We mean, it was a magic night for Genève Servette and an unlucky one for Rappi. It’s as simple as that.
THE GUY ON FIRE
Finally Arnaud Riat scored his first two goals of the season. These two goals are a real confidence booster for him!
