HC FRIBOURG GOTTÉRON vs LAUSANNE HC 3-1
Fribourg Gottéron earned a 3-1 comeback home win against Lausanne thanks to a very good team performance. Or rather, thanks to a really good team performance starting from the second period of play…
During the first 20 minutes in fact, or at least during the early stages of the game, we think it’s safe to say that the Lions Vaudois outplayed the hosts and deservedly scored the first goal of the night with Yannick Herren. We mean, it looked like the start of a nice night for the visitors.
Then, however, Fribourg Gottéron changed. Out of nowhere, or almost, Christian Dubé’s guys came back after the first break with a complete different attitude. Let’s face it, the Dragons weren’t at the top of their game… but they fought hard and, as we said, they delivered an excellent team performance. This allowed them to score the tying goal with Killian Mottet at about the half-an-hour mark. And this allowed them, already before the second break, to turn things around again with Killian Mottet!
During the final third then, the hosts fough hard and in fact never really panicked not even when Lausanne tried to increase their level of play. And finally, they deservedly set the 3-1 final score during the latest stages thanks to the empty-netter scored by Andrey Bykov.
THE GUY ON FIRE
Reto Berra delivered an outstanding performance especially during the first period. His performance was certainly a huge confidence booster for the whole team that increased its level of play after the first break!
