SC RAPPERSWIL-JONA LAKERS vs HC FRIBOURG GOTTÉRON 2-3 (OT)
As we said on the eve, both Rappi and Gottéron needed a break. This was evident also last night at the St. Galler Kantonalbank Arena. Both teams in fact, “gifted” the fans with a rather boring game that became lively only during the central period.
During the first period in fact, the two teams had only few sporadics scoring chances but there were no goals. Then as we said, the game became more lively during the second third.
It took only 4 minutes and 21 seconds to Gottéron to take a 2-goals lead thanks to Jérémie Kamerzin and KIllian Mottet. In fact, the Dragons looked to have the game in hand. Then, however, Rappi – who oftentimes are lethal in front of their own fans, reacted and in a matter of a minute at around the half-an-hour mark tied things up with Roman Cervenka and Andrew Rowe.
Anything could happen from that moment on. But in fact, almost nothing happened until the overtime period. That is until when it took 3 minutes and 50 seconds to Killian Mottet to earn Fribourg Gottéron the extra point!
We mean, both teams can even be satisfied with the final score – 1 point for the hosts, 2 points for the visitors – but both teams, in light of the performance delivered, know exactly that they need a break in order to recharge mentally and physically.
THE GUY ON FIRE
Regardless of the performance, Killian Mottet made the difference. It’s as simple as that.
