Davos are coming off the 2-1 comeback overtime home win earned against Lausanne that followed the 3-1 road defeat suffered against Fribourg Gottéron. The Ibexes, who’ve been playing a lot of games lately but nevertheless won 6 of their last 8 games, really need a break. The level of their latest performances in fact lacked of consistency especially over the arc of the 60 minutes. Christian Wohlwend’s troops, however, were almost always able to earn points therefore they’re still the favourites for tonight’s game.
Ambrì-Piotta are coming off the 3-2 home overtime win earned against Zug thanks to a brillant performance that followed the 4-3 road defeat suffered against Langnau. When you look at how Luca Cereda’s guys perform, it’s hard to imagine that they’re at the bottom of the table. This is the truth though, also because they haven’t won two consecutive game since early November. To note, moreover, that regardless of the level of their performances they lost their last 3 games played on the road.
It’s good omen for Davos to play against Ambrì-Piotta on the day December 10th. It happened also in 2005 and on that occasion, at the Valascia, the Ibexes earned a 4-1 road win thanks to the goals scored by Peter Guggisberg (2), Brett Hauer and Reto Von Arx. The Leventinesi’s consolation goal was scored by Félicien Du Bois.
