SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers vs Genève Servette HC 4-1
Rapperswil earned a 4-1 home win against Genève Servette and therefore confirm to be a very tough nut to crack, especially when they play at home!
The Eagles for their part, proved for the umpteenth time that if games started at 20:30 they’d be one of the best teams of the league. During the first period in fact, Patrick Emond’s troops really underperformed.
Nevertheless, it’s wrong to say that Rappi went to the first break 3-goals ahead only because the visitors underperformed. Actually, we think it’s safe to say that Jeff Tomlinson’s guys were outstanding during the first period of play. They played a very fast, enjoyable and fun hockey and not for nothing they scored three times in a matter of 10 minutes and 46 seconds with Kevin Clark (2) and Sandro Forrer.
We mean, the hosts went to the first break with their fans swooning!
Starting from the central period then, as is is often the case, Genève Servette increased their level of play and at times literally outplayed the hosts. This allowed them to score their first – and only… – goal of the night with Marco Miranda shortly before the second break.
First and only, right, also because we think it’s safe to say that Rapperswil never really panicked and handled the situation very well. And in fact, they even set the 4-1 final score with Danny Kristo during the latest stages of the game!
THE GUY ON FIRE
Pure class, it’s as simple as that!
