SCL Tigers vs HC Ambrì-Piotta 4-3 – Game recap, statistics and video highlights!

Regardless of the latest results, Langnau and Ambrì-Piotta were in good form. And gifted the hockey fans with an eventful and funny game, a game that both team could have win. Finally though, the Tigers prevailed 4-3!

The first period was the most boring one. Nevertheless, the hosts had few more chances and deservedy took the lead thanks to Julian Schmutz who scored after 15 minutes and 22 seconds of play. Things, however, revived after the break.

Ambrì-Piotta increased their level of play and, despite the facat that Langnau fought hard, were able to go 2-1 ahead thanks to the two goals scored by Dario Rohrbach between the 26th and the 34th minute of play.

What an emotional game it became. A hard fought game, “enriched” also by few controversial calls of the refs. Out of all this, Robbie Earl was able to score the tying goal for Langnau shortly before the second break.

At that point, anything could happen. The momentum, thanks to Robbie Earl’s goal scored during the latest stages of the second third, seemed to be favourable for the Tigers. But Ambrì-Piotta never gave up and in fact put the hosts under huge pressure, to the point that they finally scored a well- goal with Brian Flynn at 8 minutes to the end… but Langnau immediately tied things up with Ben Maxwell.

Then, the key moment of the game came. Luca Cereda’s guys had the glorious chance to play 2 minutes 5 vs 3 but weren’t able to score. Also because Langnau defended themselves very well. And right the fact that Heinz Ehlers’ troops defended themselves very well, heated things up at the Ilfishalle and allowed them to take the momentum completely on their side… this allowed them to earn a power-play opportunity, during which Pascal Berger scored the game winning goal!

As usual, the Captain is second to no one when it comes to commitment… and he even scored his 4th goal of the season, a goal that earned Langnau the win during the final stages of the game!
