HC AMBRÌ-PIOTTA vs HC FRIBOURG GOTTÉRON 3-1
The home advantage turned out to be once again crucial when Ambrì-Piotta and Fribourg Gottéron face each other this season. Moreover, the Valascia turned out to be once again “haunted” for the Dragons… the latter, however, this time were much better compared to the last October 4th when they suffered that 4-0 road defeat that led the club to fire Mark French.
Chrisian Dubé’s troops in fact, delivered a decent performance. Actually they were able to put the hosts under pressure many times. But that is also the reason why Luca Cereda’s guys win is even more significant.
Right, because Ambrì-Piotta – who were rock solid and capable of making the difference at the right times – finally turned a good performance into points. And that’s a huge confidence booster.
The first few minutes of the game were boring, but after 6 minutes and 6 seconds of play Dominic Zwerger scored the first goal of the night. The first goal of the night didn’t really change things though, because the first period was not very eventful. During the central period then, the visitors increased their level of play but by the half-an-hour mark the Biancoblù were able to take a 3-goals lead thanks to Brian Flynn and Michael Ngoy!
After that, Gottéron were able to score their first goal of the night already before the second break with Viktor Stalberg… but then, the score didn’t change until the end. Be it because the Dragons were not accurate, be it becasue Benjamin Conz was at the top of his game and be it also because – most and above all – Ambrì-Piotta fought hard until the end and so could celebrate a well-deserved win.
THE GUY ON FIRE
The goal scored is the right reward for his determination and will to continue play hockey at the highest levels!
