The Swiss Cup quarterfinals are over and the fans surely had fun! On average, 2’892 people attended the four games scheduled. Let’s see the results.

EHC BIEL-BIENNE vs SCL TIGERS 4-3

Bienne earned a 4-3 win against Langnau. What a tight game. During the first period, Anssi Salmela gave the lead to the Seeländers and Chris DiDomenico scored the tying goal for the Tigers. During the central period, Gilian Kohler restored the hosts lead and Benjamin Neukom tied things up for the visiting side. Same story during the final third. Roman Karaffa restored Bienne’s lead for the third time of the night while Robbie Earl scored for Langnau the third tying goal of the night. At 8 minutes to the end, finally, Peter Shchneider earned the win for Antti Törmänen’s troops!

HC DAVOS vs SC BERN 4-3 (OT)

Davos made it to the semifinals thanks to the 4-3 overtime win earned against Bern. After a goalless first period, 30 seconds into the second period Luca Hischier put the Ibexes ahead. Then, however, Mark Arcobello scored twice and turned the score around for the Bears already before the second break. During the third period it was Wohlwend’s troops turn to turn the score around with Benjamin Baumgartner and Samuel Guerra. After that, Bern found the way to tie things up again with Mark Arcobello (hat-trick!) but finally, during the overtime period, Magnus Nygren earned the win for Davos!

SC RAPPERSWIL-JONA LAKERS vs EV ZUG 4-0

Between the two finalists of last season… it was Rappi who earned a 4-0 win. The hosts took the lead during the first period with Juraj Simek and then, always with Juraj Simek, extended to 2-goals their lead at the half-an-hour mark. Already before the second break then, Andrew Rowe scored the third goal for the Lakers and basically sealed the teal… finally, during the final third also Daniel Kristo scored for Rappi and therefore set the 4-0 final score!

HC AJOIE vs ZSC LIONS 6-3

Ajoie earned the win against the ZSC Lions just like back in 2017, and therefore gifted their fans with another magic night! The hosts amazingly took a 5-goals lead in 47 minutes and 58 seconds of play thanks to Philip-Michael Devos (2), Kevin Ryser and Mathias Joggi (2). Then the Lions scored twice with Garrett Roe and Chris Baltisberger but it was too late. Even more so because during the final stages Kevin Ryser scored the sixth goal of the night for Ajoie before that Raphael Prassl set the 6-3 final score!

And now… in the semifinals, Ajoie will host Bienne while Rapperswil and Davos face each other!
