HC DAVOS vs HC AMBRÌ-PIOTTA 5-3
Davos earned a 5-3 home win against Ambrì-Piotta and therefore continue to have an impressive points average earned per game to say the least.
The game played this afternoon at the Vaillant Arena was overall quite entertaining and eventful. Initially, Luca Cereda’s guys seemed on fire and would have deserved to take the lead… but as the game went on, Davos increased their level of play.
In fact, the Ibexes played a very good second period and that allowed them to take a 3-goals lead thanks to Perttu Lindgren, Felicien Du Bois and, again, Perttu Lindgren. If to this we add the goal scored by Luca Hischier scored during the early stages of the third period that extended the hosts lead to 4-goals, the game looked over.
Then, however, always during the early stages of the third period Dario Rohrbach scored the first goal for Ambrì-Piotta and that was a game changes. Luca Cereda’s guys in fact, build up their confidence and with each passing minute they started to think about an impressive comeback. So much that in a matter of 24 seconds – at about 5 seconds to the end – they scored two power-play goals with Marco Müller that made it a brand new game!
At that point, the momentum was on Ambrì-Piotta’s side. But Christian Wohlwend’s troops handled the situation pretty well during the last 4 minutes and 52 seconds of play, and in fact even set the 5-3 final score at 49 seconds to the end thanks to Fabrice Herzog empty-netter.
THE GUY ON FIRE
It’s a pleasure to watch Perttu Lindgren play. He’s reborn, welcome back Perttu!
