Tre squadre Svizzere su quattro si sono qualificate per i quarti di finali di Champions Hockey League! Vediamo i risultati delle partite di ritorno dei sedicesimi di finale…
Three Swiss teams out of four made it to the Champions Hockey League quarterfinals! Here are the game recaps of the Round of 16 second leg of our clubs.
LULEA HOCKEY vs SC BERN 4-2
Bern are the only Swiss club who didn’t make to the next round. The Bears in fact, weren’t able to turn things around after that they’d lost 3-0 the first leg. Nevertheless, they almost immediately took the lead with Andrew Ebbett. But then, always during the first period, the hosts turned the score around thanks to Robin Kovacs and Arttu Ilomäki. Already before the first break, Bern scored the tying goal with Yanick Burren, but shortly before the half-an-hour mark Arttu Ilomäki restored Lulea’s lead. Finally, during the lastest stages of the game, Arttu Ilomäki (hat-trick!) set the 4-2 final score.
LAUSANNE HC vs HC PLZEN 4-4 (OT)
Lausanne made it to the final eight thanks to the overtime goal scored by Cory Emmerton! Previously, the first period was literally crazy. The Lions Vaudois went to the first break 3-2 ahead in the score thanks to the goals scored by Dustin Jeffrey, Petteri Lindbohm and Tyler Moy. The Czech’s scorers were Jaroslav Kracik and Lukas Kanak. After a goalless second third then, Plzen were able to go 4-3 ahead during the third period thanks to Matyas Kantner and Lubos Rob and at that point considering the final score of the first leg the game went to overtime, when it took only 58 seconds to Cory Emmerton to earn Lausanne the quarterfinal!
EV ZUG vs TAPPARA TAMPERE 3-1
Zug earned a 3-1 home win and therefore made it to the 1/8 final thanks to a 6-4 score on aggregate! The Bulls sealed the deal in about half-an-hour… that is, the time required to take a 3-goals lead thanks to Dario Simion and Gregory Hofmann (2). During the final third then, the former Gottéron Charles Bertrand scored the consolation goal for Tappara Tampere but it was too late.
EHC BIEL-BIENNE vs AUGSBURGER PANTHER 2-2 (OT)
Bienne earned a 2-1 overtime win and so, after that the first leg finished tie, made it to the 1/8 final! Once again, it was a tight game until the end. The Seeländers took the lead with Tino Kessler during the early stages of the central period… but then the Germans scored the tying goal shortly before the second break with Andrew Leblanc. There were no more goals until the overtime period, during which it took 3 minutes and 4 seconds to Toni Rajala (who else?!) to earn Bienne the qualification!
