HC FRIBOURG GOTTÉRON vs HC AMBRÌ-PIOTTA 4-2
Fribourg Gottéron earned a well-deserved 4-2 win against Ambrì-Piotta thanks to a performance made of an impressive goodwill!
A goodwill that, however, also led the Dragons to overdo. That was a problem, because in fact they unnecessarily made their own life difficult. Let’s take the first 14 minutes of play for example. Gottéron outplayed Ambrì-Piotta, it’s as simple as that. We think it’s safe to say that Dubé’s guys drove the visitors nuts… and this allowed them to go 3-0 ahead in the score thanks to the goals scored by Matthias Rossi, Daniel Brodin and David Desharnais.
Then, after that they wasted several chances to take a 4-goals lead, Luca Cereda’s troops smartness came to light, together with Scottie Upshall’s experience and Matt D’Agostini’s talent, with the latter who scored a bit out of nowhere the first goal of the night for the Biancoblù.
The game didn’t change though. The hosts were always the better side. Meanwhile, however, the visitors proved to be “smarter”… and that allowed them to make it a brand new game again with Matt D’Agostini shortly before the half-an-hour mark! And that also allowed them to come very close few times to score the tying goal.
Frankly speaking though, it would have been unfair for the Dragons not to win this game during which they delivered a very good performance. And so, rightly so, they were rewarded during the final stages of the game when Viktor Stalberg’s empty-netter set the 4-2 final score.
THE GUY ON FIRE
Christian Dubé (Coach)
Looking just at how hungry his guys were… we think it’s safe to say that he prepared this game perfectly when it comes to mentality. Many things can still improve, a better organization when it comes to synchronize offensive and defensive play for example. But his team is really reborg!
