The ZSC Lions are coming off the 3-2 win earned against Ambrì-Piotta on the road that followed the overtime defeat suffered in Bienne. So far, Zürich have been the best team of the National League both in terms of results and performances. Moreover, they won 6 of their last 7 games. Also their home record is impressive, at the Hallenstadion in fact Rickard Grönborg’s troops won 9 of their 10 games played! We mean, they aren’t league leaders just by accident.
Lugano are coming off the 2-1 home defeat suffered against Bienne that extended their losing streak to 3-games. Sami Kapanen’s guys needed a break, that’s for sure. They’re capable of everything and its opposite, they’re quite solid but they struggle to score. To note that tonight, it’s likely that Paul Postma will make his debut with the team. We’re very curious to see if the new Canadian offensive defenseman will make the difference.
It’s been over 4 years since the last time Lugano earned a 3 points win at the Hallenstadion against Zürich. The last time dates back to February 24th, 2015, when the troops back then coached by Patrick Fischer earned a 3-2 win thanks to the goals scored by Klasen (2) and Juraj Simek. The hosts’ scorers were Patrik Bärtschi and Luca Cunti.
