HC AMBRÌ-PIOTTA vs ZSC LIONS
SEASON HEAD TO HEAD
Ambrì-Piotta are coming off the great performance and 3-2 win earned against Bienne last night on the road that followed the 4-3 shootout win earned in Lugano. In other words and to make the story short, Luca Cereda’s guys were finally rewarded for all their efforts. And now, one last home game before the international break that is very welcomed as the Biancoblù need to take a break and several players need to recover from injuries… this last game before the break will be played at the Valascia, where Ambrì-Piotta won 4 of the last 7 games played.
The ZSC Lions are the current National League leaders and are the ones who, in our opinion, are playing the best hockey in Switzerland at the moment. Yet, they’re coming off the 4-3 overtime defeat suffered in Bienne that put their 5-games winning run to an end. It’s not a big deal though, because Rickard Grönborg guys were able to earn at least a point also at the Tissot Arena even though their performance was not top notch. We mean, there is not much better than the Lions currently around in the National League… that’s why they’re the favourites for tonight’s game.
Ambrì-Piotta won only 1 of the last 7 games played against the ZSC Lions at the Valascia. It happened on December 2nd, 2017, when they won 4-0 thanks to the goals scored by Cory Emmerton, Lukas Lhotak and Dominik Kubalik (2). The previous home win against the Lions instead, dated back to November 12th, 2015 when they earned a 3-2 shootout win… during the 60 minutes of play, Alexandre Giroux and Adam Hall scored for the hosts, while Kris Foucault and Mike Künzle scored for the visitors.
