HC FRIBOURG GOTTÉRON vs LAUSANNE HC 3-2
Fribourg Gottéron earned a 3-0 home win against Lausanne and therefore finally put their 3-games losing streak to an end!
In our opinion, there is a simply explanation for the Dragons’ win. They wanted it more, point. The game, frankly speaking, will not go down in history as the greatest derby of all time… in fact, it was a game during which both teams showed that there is still a lot of work to be done.
Fribourg Gottéron are downhearted because of the negative results. Lausanne on the other hand, are unable to turn their puck possession into clear scoring chances in the offensive zone. Moreover, they look not determined enough.
The fact is that Gottéron’s win, even though earned at the last gasp, was very well deserved. The hosts were able to take the lead thanks to Viktor Stalberg almost immediately… but then the score didn’t chance until the second break. It was no accident, as the game was surely intense but not very eventful.
Things changed during the final third. Lausanne slightly increased their level of play… and that allowed them to score the tying goal with Yannick Herren 72 seconds into the third period. But it was right during the third period that Gottéron won the game thanks to their character. Right, because firstly they equalized thanks to the power-play goal scored by Killian Mottet… but then, most and above all, after that Lausanne scored another tying goal with Yannick Herren (PP goal), they were able to score the game winning goal with David Desharnais at 2 minutes and a half to the end!
A very well deserved game winning goal. Because as we said, even though the game wasn’t spectacular, the guys coached by Dubé (and Rosa, and Simpson…) wanted the 3 points more. Point.
THE GUY ON FIRE
Killian Mottet scored a goal… but, most and above all, he put his heart and soul during each shift. We mean, his performance was seriously top notch!
