LAUSANNE HC vs EV ZUG 2-1
Lausanne earned a 2-1 home win against Zug at the end of a game that, in our opinion, was very spectacular and eventful!
The Lions Vaudois proved one more time to be rock solid – if we exclude the Swiss Cup… – and overall delivered a top notch performance. They took the lead after only 3 minutes and 16 seconds of play… and then at times outplayed the visitors during the first period. Only at times Zug – who perhaps weren’t at the top of their game – were able to become dangerous in the offensive zone.
Same story during the central period. The game was always fun, intense, at times spectacular and even tough. We meann, all these ingredients entertained the 7’887 fans who attended the game at the fantastic Vaudoise Arena. And yet, in spite of everything, the score didn’t change until the early stages of the third period of play, that is until Cory Emmerton deservedly extended to 2-goals the lead for Lausanne!
At that point obviously Zug increased their level of play. But Ville Peltonen’s troops always gave their best during each single shift and – also supported by an excellent Tobias Stephan – were able to handle the situation. Also during the last 6 minutes of play, after that the Bulls were able to make it a brand new game with Yannick-Lennart Albrecht.
And so the score (2-1) didn’t change until the end… overall, rightly so. One thing is sure though, Lausanne and Zug gifted us with 60 minutes of fantastic ice hockey!
THE GUY ON FIRE
Cory Emmerton scored the game winning goal… most and above all, however, he delivered yet another solid and smart performance!
