HC FRIBOURG GOTTÉRON vs ZSC LIONS
SEASON HEAD TO HEAD
HC FRIBOURG GOTTÉRON
Fribourg Gottéron are coming off the 4-2 home win earned against Davos that followed the 4-1 win earned against Lugano on the road. The Dragons, who therefore won 2 consecutive games for the first time this season, aren’t obviously at the top of their game yet… but they’re putting a lot of goodwill on display. And, despite everything, won 3 of their last 4 games. We mean, no one can underestimate Gottéron, who are currently capable of everything and its opposite. Obviously, they’re also capable of winning against the ZSC Lions.
The ZSC Lions are coming off the “crazy” 5-4 overtime win earned against Langnau that followed the 4-3 home defeat suffered against Zug. The Lions won only 2 of their last 4 games and in both cases we’re talking about overtime win. Yet, don’t be fooled by the latest resutls… because Rickard Grönborg’s troops are in great form and are likely the ones who are playing the best hockey in the league at this moment. Among the things to improve, however, there is the away record… the Lions in fact, even though they’re in good form, won only 1 of their 5 away games this season.
It’s good omen for the ZSC Lions to face Fribourg Gottéron on the day October 18th… It happened also in 2008 and on that occasion, always in Fribourg, the troops back then coached by Sean Simpson earned a 5-4 away win thanks to the goals scored by Jan Alston, Severin Blindenbacher, Cyrill Bühler and Thibaut Monnet. The Dragons’ goals instead were scored by Caryl Neuenschwander, Benny Plüss, Julien Sprunger and Gil Montandon.
