HC FRIBOURG GOTTÉRON vs HC DAVOS 4-2
Fribourg Gottéron earned a 4-2 home win against Davos at the end of a quite eventful game!
Right now, Gottéron’s hockey is inevitably based mostly on emotions, and frankly speaking that’s not so bad to see. In terms of determination in fact, the Dragons delivered an excellent performance against Davos. The Ibexes for their part had a less positive night compared to the recent past… that’s, however, likely the price to pay (ups and downs) after a poor season like the last one.
The fact is that, even though the game was overall quite balanced, the hosts looked hungrier and more committed, it’s as simple as that. That “committment” allowed them to take the lead during the first period with Killian Mottet… and it allowed them to restore their lead with David Desharnais in the 38th minute of play during a power-play situation shortly after that Davos scored the tying goal with Mattias Tedenby.
The same commitment and – if you let us use the term – “desperation”, allowed them also during the third period to restore for the third time their lead in the 44th minute of play during a power-play situation with Killian Mottet. Also in this case, shortly after that Aaron Palushaj scored another tying goal for the visitors.
During the final stages then, the same committment allowed Gottéron to withstand the pressure of the visitors, until when Viktor Stalberg scored the empty-netter that set the 4-2 final score!
THE GUY ON FIRE
Ryan Gunderson delivered an excellent performance, and he’s one of the reasons why the Dragons’ power-play is efficient.
