HC LUGANO vs HC FRIBOURG GOTTÉRON
SEASON HEAD TO HEAD
Lugano are coming off the 6-3 home win earned against Rapperswil that followed the 4-3 shootout defeat suffered against Langnau on the road. Sami Kapanen’s troops won 4 of their last 5 gmaes and, most and above all, have been able to earn at least 1 point since 8 consecutive games. These excellent results allowed them to be currently in the upper part of the table. Deservedly so, because the performances are oftentimes very good, especially during the first parts of the games.
HC FRIBOURG GOTTÉRON
Fribourg Gottéron were outplayed by Bienne last night and suffered a 4-1 home defeat… last night’s loss followed the only “3 points” win of the season earned last Saturday, always at home, against Rapperswil. In view of what happened last night, however, the win against Rappi is to be considered solely a flash in the pan. Yet, Gottéron on paper have all it takes to become a dangerous side. Will they finally be able to prove it tonight in Lugano?
It’s definitively good omen for Fribourg Gottéron to face Lugano on the day October 12th… it happened last year (12.10.2018) and also back in 2013. In both cases, the Dragons prevailed! Last year they earned a 2-1 home win thanks to the goals scored by Jim Slater and Julien Sprunger who turned the score around after that Julien Vauclair gave the lead to Lugano. Back in 2013 instead, at the Resega, the Dragons had earned a 2-1 away win thanks to the goal scored by Greg Mauldin and Marc-Antoine Pouliot, while in between Lukas Balmelly had temporarily equalized for the hosts.
