SEASON HEAD TO HEAD

SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers vs HC Ambrì-Piotta 3-0

HC AMBRÌ-PIOTTA

Ambrì-Piotta underperfomed last night in Zug and suffered a clear and well-deserved 5-1 defeat. That was the 4th defeat for the Leventinesi in their last 5 games… and the fith defeat, out of five games, away from home. There is no denying that Luca Cereda’s troops, regardless of the level of the performance, have been struggling to earn points lately. Therefore, the game of tonight at the Valascia is very welcomed, even if only because – despite everything – they won 3 of their last 4 home games.

SC RAPPERSWIL-JONA LAKERS

Rapperswil are coming off the magic game of last night… a night during which they earned an impressive 5-4 overtime comeback win against Bern in front of their fans. Last night’s game made clear for the umpteenth time that Rappi this season are a very tough nut to crack, even if they lost 4 of their last 6 games and even if away from home won only 1 game out of 5.

FUN FACT

It’s good omen for Rapperswil to face Ambrì-Piotta on the day October 12th. It happened also back in 2012 and on that occasion at the Diners Club Arena Rappi, back then coached by Harry Rogenmoser, earned a 5-3 win thanks to the goals scored by Robbie Earl (2), Mauro Jörg, Loic Burkhalter and Jason Spezza. For the Leventinesi instead, the scorers were Marco Pedretti (2) and Jason Williams.
