EV ZUG vs HC AMBRÌ-PIOTTA 5-1
Zug earned a clear and well-deserved 5-1 home win against Ambrì-Piotta at the Bossard Arena!
Do you know those one-sided games? Those games during which is not very clear wheter the winners were just too strong or the losers were just too weak… we mean, it’s difficult to say if the Bulls were simply “on fire” or the Leventinesi totally underperformed.
The fact is that Dan Tangnes’ guys literally outplayed their opponents especially during the first two periods of play. Already during the first period they took a 2-goals lead thanks to Yannick Zehnder and Santeri Alatalo… during the second third then, David McIntyre and Gregory Hofmann (2) sealed the 3-points as they put the hosts 5-0 ahead in the score.
What about Ambrì-Piotta instead? At times the Biancoblù were just too ugly to be true. It’s also safe to say, however, that the Bulls were unstoppable, in the image of the fact that the visitors were forced so many times to make errors and not for nothing they were assessed countless penalties.
Only during the third period the fans could admire some good play of Ambrì-Piotta, when the hosts only thought about handling the situation. That led, at 5 minutes to the end, to the consolation goal scored by Johnny Kneubuehler who in fact “ruined” Luca Hollenstein’s night – at his NL debut from the 1st minute – by preventing him from earning the first NL shutout of his career.
THE GUY ON FIRE
Gregory Hofmann… thanks to his speed he is a constant pain in the neck to the opponents… thanks to his determination he can score countless goals… he scored two last night against Ambrì-Piotta, and only Hrachovina prevented him from scoring few more!
