EV ZUG vs HC AMBRÌ-PIOTTA
I CONFRONTI DIRETTI STAGIONALI
Zug are coming off the 3-2 shootout home defeat suffered against Bienne that followed the two wins narrow earned against Bern and Genève Servette. Overall the Bulls won “only” 3 of their last 5 games… but they’re improving a log. Compared to earlier this season in fact, now they’re much more solid defensively. Moreover, they confirmed their progress the other night when they earned a 5-2 comeback win against the Czech of Plzen in the Champions Hockey League.
Ambrì-Piotta are coming off the 3-1 away defeat suffered against Lausanne that followed the 4-0 home win earned against Fribourg Gottéron. Cereda’s guys lost 3 of their last 4 games… but they basically always deliver at least decent performances. The fact though, is that they’re yet to win their first away game of the season after 4 attempts… will they be able to do it tonight? The Leventinesi are very much alive, after all. They proved that also the other night when they went to win 4-0 against Banska Bystrica on the road in the Champions Hockey League.
When Zug and Ambrì-Piotta face each other it’s quite rare that a goalie earn a shutout. The last one who was able to earn a shutout was Tobias Stephan (Zug) back on November 13th, 2015. On that occasion, at the Bossard Arena, the Bulls earned a 5-0 win thanks to the goals scored by Reto Suri, Dominic Lammer, Lino Martschini and Josh Holden (2).
