OCELARI TRINEC vs LAUSANNE HC 2-1 (OT)
Champions Hockey League – 09.10.2019
Lausanne suffered a 2-1 overtime win against Ocelari Trinec and therefore will have to win next week against the same opponents in order to secure themselves a place in the Round of 32.
The game played in Czech Republic got off to a poor start for Ville Peltonen’s troops… whom firstly couldn’t scsore during a PP opportunity and then during a PK situation – Lukas Frick and the new import Max Wärn were both assessed a penalty – conceded the fist goal of the night after 6 minutes and 48 seconds. The scorer was Erik Hrna.
Then the game became sort of balanced, and the Lions Vaudois increased their level of play during the second period. For that, they were rewarded shortly after the half-an-hour mark, when Joël Genazzi scored the tying goal.
During the third period then, and especially during the second part of it, Ocelari Trinec were the better side… but Tobias Stephan made a couple of big saves and therefore the game went to overtime. Duirng which Matej Stransky scored and earned the win for the hosting side!
