KAC KLAGENFURT vs EHC BIEL-BIENNE 3-6
Champions Hockey League – 09.10.2019
Bienne almost secured themselves a place in the Round of 32 as they earned a 6-3 win against Klagenfurt on the road!
The Seeländers got off to a brillant start and took a 2-goals lead thanks to Peter Schneider and Janis Moser in a matter of 4 minutes and 49 seconds. Then, however, the hosts reacted and tried their hardest. In fact, it was only thanks to Eliane Paupe if the score didn’t change anymore until the first break.
During the early stages of the second period then, the hosts’ efforts paid off thanks to the goal scored by Lukas Haudum. It was, however, only a flash in the pan… because Bienne, contrary to what happens in the NL, were extremely accurate in front of goal… and so, in a matter of approximately 10 minutes, Peter Schneider scored two more goals and put the Seeländers 4-2 ahead.
Shortly before the second break then the hosts scored their second goal of the night with Andrew Kozek, and then during the early stages of the third period David Fischer made it a brand new game!
It took no long though to Toni Rajala to restore a 2-goals lead for Bienne… and finally Peter Schneider scored his fourth goal of the night and set the 6-3 final score in Antti Törmänen’s troops favour!
What a magic night for Peter Schneider, who lost the last EBEL title in the final right against Klagenfurt. He scored four goals, and perhaps now he can really turn from a shooting machine into a scoring machine also in our league!
