HC AMBRÌ-PIOTTA vs HC FRIBOURG GOTTÉRON 4-0
Ambrì-Piotta earned a 4-0 home win against Fribourg Gottéron and this result, finally, cost the job to the Dragons’ coach Mark French!
We can’t say it this is the right choice or not… one thing is sure though, we haven’t seen may one-sided games like the one of last night since a while. On the one hand because the Leventinesi delivered an excellent performance, especially in the first two periods of play when they sealed the win. On the other hand though, also because Fribourg Gottéron – frankly speaking – were just too ugly to be true.
Let’s take the first period for instance, a period that we think it’s safe to say it was a game between “Ambrì-Piotta and Reto Berra”. With the latter who was the only reason why the score was only 1-0 at the break in the favour of the hosts, who scored with Michael Fora the first goal of the night after 18 minutes and 31 seconds of play.
And let’s take also the second period, when we expected – in vain – a fierce reaction of the visitors. Instead, Luca Cereda’s troops were always the better side and, as a logical consequence, they took a 3-goals lead with Giacomo Dal Pian and (finally) Robert Sabolic, with the latter who scored during a power-play situation.
During the third period then, the game was closed and became logically more balanced. Nevertheless, Ambrì-Piotta scored again with Marco Müller who – shorthanded! – set the 4-0 final score!
THE GUY ON FIRE
As usual, even though his performance was not flawless, he was able to create several scoring chances. Finally, he converted one of them and that could be the breakthrough of his season!
