GENÈVE SERVETTE HC vs SC BERN 4-2
The “underrated” Genève Servette never cease to amaze… they earned a 4-2 home win against the title holders Bern and are currently second placed with 11 points in 5 games!
The Eagles’ last win is even enhanced in value because the Bears surely haven’t underperformed. Actually, the think it’s safe to say that Kari Jalonen’s boys played quitet well, they got off to a good start and even took the lead with Thomas Ruefenacht after 11 minutes and 13 seconds of play.
Patrick Emond’s guys, however, proved to have some real character. Firstly they almost immediately scored the tying goal with Juraj Simek… and then, especially starting from the second period, they increased their level of play. That led to the two goals scored by Eliot Berthon and Daniel Winnik that put the Eagles 2-goals ahead before the second break.
During the third period then, Bern obviously tried everything to make it a brand new game, but lacked of accuracy in front of goal… and only Simon Moser were able to put the puck in the net in the 58th minute of play.
No harm done for the hosts though, who anyway handled very well the situation during the whole third third and even set the 4-2 final score during the latest stages of the game thanks to Tanner Richard’s empy netter.
THE GUY ON FIRE
Eliot Berthon delivered an excellent performance. Moreover, the goal scored was he icing on the cake!
