SCL TIGERS vs HC FRIBOURG GOTTÉRON 3-2
Langnau earned a 3-2 win against Fribourg Gottéron at the end of a quite eventful and funny game, at least during the first two periods of play!
The Tigers got off to a great start and took the lead thanks to Aaron Gagnon after 9 minutes and 33 seconds of play. Fribourg Gottéron, however, were able – always during the first period – to turn the score around with Daniel Brodin and Marc Abplanalp, and from that moment on the “momentum” could turn clearly on their side!
During the central period though, the game was still very exciting, both teams made a good effort… but finally, the key moment in our opinion came 43 seconds before the second break, when the Tigers were able to equalize thanks to Harri Pesonen during a power-play opportunity.
Why was that the key moment in our opinion? Because, as it is often the case, a goal scored shortly before the second break makes the difference when a game is balanced… it was therefore not an accident that during the third period, that became less eventful, anything could happen. And it happened that the Tigers, mentally stronger after the goal scored in the 39th minute of play, were able to score the shorthanded game winning goal with Ben Maxwell at 7 minutes to the end!
Overall, as we said, we think that both teams made a good effort. But Langnau proved mentally stronger and perhaps even more determined at the key moments of the game… Fribourg Gottéron for their part, have room for improvement, moreover they lost Julien Sprunger who god badly injured, and the latter is likely to be the worst news of the night for the Dragons.
THE GUY ON FIRE
Harri Pesonen is in great shape, just like last season… he scored the crucial second goal of the night for Langnau and even had an assist. Moreover, he’s pure energy!
