GENÈVE SERVETTE HC vs ZSC LIONS

17.09.2019

2019-20 SEASON HEAD TO HEAD

GENÈVE SERVETTE HC

Genève Servette are coming off the 4-2 home defeat suffered against Bienne that followed the 3-1 win earned on the road against Langnau. The Eagles proved to be in a very good shape, even though struggled to be consistent throughout the whole game in terms of intensity. In fact, both in Langnau and at Les Vernets, Patrick Emond’s guys played very well two periods out of three.

ZSC LIONS

Zürich are coming off the painful 5-4 comeback overtime defeat suffered in Zug that followed the 6-3 home win earned against Davos. We think it’s safe to say that, during this first weekend of games, the Lions put a very interesting hockey on display and turned out to be one of the best teams. Grönborg’s troops, however, should avoid distractions.

FUN FACT

It’s good omen for the ZSC Lions to face Genève Servette on the day September 17th… it happened also back in 2005 and on that occasion, at the Hallenstadion, Zürich won 5-3 thanks to the goals scored by Adrian Wichser, Sven Helfenstein, Mikael Karlberg (2) and Jan Alston. Meanwhile, the Eagles’ goals were scored by Jan Hlavac, Mike Knoepfli and Yanick Lehoux. To note that Severin Blindenbacher (who will miss tonight’s game because of injury) was already lined up for the Lions back then… he had 1 assist and was assessed a 2 minutes minor penalty.
