SC Bern – EHC Biel-Bienne 5-1
Our game summary, the key player, video highlights and game statistics.
Bern earned a 5-1 win against Bienne and therefore will face Zug starting from Thursday night in the Final!
Game-7 became very soon a one-sided affair. Bern’s experience in fact, made the difference. Bienne on the other hand, made way too many unforced errors… just like during the first few minutes of the game, when they were assessed two minors penalties that costed Tristan Scherwey’s goal. And just like after about 10 minutes of play, when a mistake in the offensive zone allowed Gregory Sciaroni to put the Bears 2-0 in front.
Always during the first period then, Ramon Untersander scored a third goal for the Bears during a power-play situation and, in fact, the game was already over.
Marco Maurer then tried to make it a brand new game during the final stages of the first period… but nothing changed, becasue only 51 seconds into the central period Thomas Ruefenacht restored the 3-goals lead for Bern. And let’s face it, if Bern have a 3-goals lead… it’s almost impossible to catch them.
The game therefore continued with the Seeländers trying somehow to get back in the game and with the Bears handling the situation well… until the 55th minute of play, when Tristan Scherwey set the 5-1 final score thanks to an empty-netter!
Tristan Scherwey (SC Bern)
Two goals… and he brought in plenty of energy. Tristan Scherwey is a crucial player for Bern!
