Our game summary, the key player, video highlights and game statistics.

The Seeländers got back up after the two consecutive losses… they stood up, they went to the Bears cave and deservedly earned a 2-0 win! And now, they’re just one step away from reaching a historical Finale.

Frankly speaking, the game played at the PostFinance Arena was not very spectacular. Let’s face it, it’s difficult to play “champagne hockey” when you face Jalonen’s troops… it takes infinite patience to win or to have a chance to win. Well, we therefore think that Antti Törmänen prepared this game perfectly!

During the first half-an-hour Bienne were the ones who played the most proactive hockey and that paid off after 28 minutes and 37 seconds, when Robbie Earl scored the first goal of the night!

Then, as the game went on, Bern obiously tried to react… but for the umpteenth time this season, they almost looked like emotionless. We mean, symbolically, their pressure  was just a lot of “hot air”… the Seeländers for their part delivered the almost perfect defensive performance and had a wall called Jonas Hiller in front of the net… and finally, they set the 2-0 final score thanks to Marc-Antoine Pouliot’s empty-netter!

Jonas Hiller (EHC Biel-Bienne)

We’re wondering if Jonas is his real name… perhaps he should be renamed “Wall” Hiller.
