EV ZUG – LAUSANNE HC

Zug are 3-1 ahead and therefore have 3 match points at their disposal. We’re pretty sure that Dan Tangnes’ troops have every intention to earn the final already tonight in front of their own fans… and for what we’ve seen so far in the series, it looks like they have all it takes to do so. Careful though, do not ever write off a wounded Lion (Vaudois!).

SEMIFINAL – GAME-5 – 04.04.2019

EV ZUG vs LAUSANNE HC – Bossard Arena – 20:00

Zug are having some terrific playoffs and have all it takes to earn the final already tonight. Let’s not beat around the bush, the Bulls are stronger than the Lions Vaudois in every way. Dan Tangnes’ together with his staff have been able to build a real steamroller. A steamroller who play some great hockey too!

WHAT DID WORK

Performances

Zug are delivering divine performances that flirt with perfection! The Bulls are solid in the defensive zone, effective in the neutral zone and even organized yet unpredictable in the offensive zone. In other words, they play a fantastic and entertaining hockey!

WHAT CAN IMPROVE

Double edged sword

Right now, Zug have everything to lose… the Bulls have 3 match points and are clearly the favourites to make it to the final. Paradoxically, this factor can turn out to be a dangerous double edged sword. We mean, tonight it’s gonna be a real litmus test!

THE PLAYER “ON FIRE”

Garrett Roe

We ran out of adjectives when it comes to talk about Garrett Roe. The American forward is literally driving Lausanne nuts… so far, he’s been unquestionably the MVP of the playoffs 2019!

Lausanne are up against the wall and have nothing to lose. Moreover, the Lions Vaudois even look little bit tired and unable to claw and roar… however, it ain’t over till it’s over and this is not only a cliché. Moreover, let us not forget that Lausanne were 1-3 behind in the series also back in the 2014 playoffs against the ZSC Lions and were nevertheless able to go to game-7 (then lost…)!

WHAT DID WORK

Game-2

Lausanne need the almost perfect performance to prevail against Zug and it could even not be enough. In this regard, however, if Ville Peltonen’s troops will be able to play like during the first two period of game-2… they still have a chance.

WHAT CAN IMPROVE

Unpredictability

By now Lausanne have nothing to lose and maybe it’s time to take a chance and risk it all. It’s good to follow the system of play to the letter… at this point though, we think that some more unpredictability could be the only hope.

THE PLAYER “ON FIRE”

Lukas Frick

Lukas Frick never gives up… he’s having some terrific playoffs and never ceases to amaze. He’s extremely solid in the defensive zone and he’s extremly committed. He’s an example to follow!
