EHC Biel-Bienne – SC Bern 2-5
Our game summary, the key player, video highlights and game statistics.
Bern earned a 5-2 win at the Tissot Arena against Bienne and therefore the series is now 2-2!
It’s been somehow a strange game. Bienne had their chances and their performance was decent… the truth is, however, that Bern were more solid, their shots were definitely more dangerous and the players won most of the one-on-one battles.
We mean, Kari Jalonen’s troops win made full sense. Bern took the lead during the first period thanks to Simon Moser and then extended to 2-goals their lead during the early stages of the second period with Thomas Ruefenacht who scored during a power-play situation. Bienne reacted and, already before the half-an-hour mark, shortened distances thanks to Damien Brunner’s power-play goal… moreover, they had several good opportunities to equalize.
The Bears, however, never really panicked and then increased their level of play after the second break when, after only 3 minutes and 45 seconds, restored their 2-goals lead thanks to Simon Moser’s power-play goal. Moreover, the Bears didn’t panic even at 12 minutes to the end, when Toni Rajala scored Bienne’s second goal and made it a brand new game… in fact, they handled the sitaution very well and during the last two minutes of the game set the 5-2 final score with Jan Mursak and Tristan Scherwey!
