Zug continue to prove their value. They proved it also in game-2 at the Malley 2.0 despite the overtime defeat suffered. Then sure, the defeat suffered in Lausanne on Thursday night was a painful one for the way it came… the Bulls had been able to turn the momentum in their favour but then were not merciless enough during the overtime period.

WHAT DID WORK

Performances

Overall, Zug’s performances are excellent. Maybe the players lack of consistency over the arc of the 60 minutes… but the Bulls’ hockey is very entertaining and can put the opponents in trouble.

WHAT CAN IMPROVE

Second periods

Overall, Zug conceded 17 goals during the playoffs, of which 10 (!) during the central periods! This problem already came to light during the quarterfinals against Lugano and came to light again during the first two games against Lausanne. Focus guys, focus!

THE PLAYER “ON FIRE”

Garrett Roe

Garrett Roe is a shooting machine and a pain in the neck to Lausanne’s defense. His performances are good and when he enters the offensive zone he always find the way to make himself dangerous.

Lausanne were boring during game-1 but then delivered one of their best performances of the season in game-2. As we had already the chance to say, the Lions Vaudois are the modern version of “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde”! Anyway, Ville Peltonen’s troops are proving that they have all it takes to make Zug’s life difficult.

WHAT DID WORK

Character

Lausanne are proving to have some real character just like they had during the Regular Season. The Lions Vaudois bounced back after the underperformance delivered in game-1… moreover, in game-2, they were able to grab the win during the overtime period when the momentum was in Zug’s favour. We mean, this team has got balls!

WHAT CAN IMPROVE

Consistency

When Lausanne play well… they play very well. We saw that during the first two periods of game-2. The problem is, however, that the Lions Vaudois must find a way to be more consistent… in fact, their hockey requires a lot of effort and tiredness can become a problem.

THE PLAYER “ON FIRE”

Lukas Frick

Lukas Frick is on fire! He’s the perfect picture of Lausanne’s defensive soundness. Whenever he’s on ice, it’s darn difficult for Zug to create clear scoring opportunities.
