We will present you, from now until the end of the playoffs, in this semi-serious column, the quotes that in our opinion particularly suit the eight teams who are battling to become Swiss Champions!

This column will be published regularly…

SC BERN vs EHC BIEL-BIENNE 0-1

SC Bern

“Football is a game of mistakes. Whoever makes the fewest mistakes wins!” – Johan Cruyff

So is ice hockey, dear Johan Cruyff… so is ice hockey. And Bern, made countless mistakes during game-1 of the semifinal. Especially in the defensive zone, which is actually really strange. Some mistakes were due to Bienne’s great performance… others instead, were avoidable… the truth is that you have no chance to win a playoffs game when you make so many mistakes!

EHC Biel-Bienne

“All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them!” – Walt Disney

Yeah, Walt… don’t push it. Even though what you said has a basis of truth. Bienne is proving that they have the courague to pursue their dreams. Or rather, their dream… which is the once to go all the way to the final. And then, who knows… there is still a long way to go though. The Seeländers must eat three more pieces of Bear… will they have the courage to do it? 🙂

EV ZUG vs LAUSANNE HC 1-0

EV Zug

“Patience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet!” – Aristotle

Zug must be really patient against this Lausanne who, when they follow their system of play to the letter, are almost flawless in the defensive zone. During game-1 the Bulls proved very patient… and as Aristotle once said, even though patience is bitter, its fruit is sweet. Sweet like a victory in game-1 of the playoffs semifinal!

Lausanne HC

“It’s better to be a lion for a day than a sheep all your life!” – Elizabeth Kenny

With all due respect for the sheeps, of course… but dear Lausanne, look at your crest. Bring out the Lion in you! Roar… claw… scream… I mean, do something… free yourself from the cage represented by the system of play sometimes. And, contrary to what Elizabeth Kenny said, don’t do it for one day… do it for four days before the series against Zug ends 🙂
